Job Requirements
Responsibilities & duties:
1. Software tester is part of scrum team developing a windows/web-based software application
2. Reading, understanding software user stories/Product backlog items and grooming them with
scrum team.
3. Understanding developer’s planned implementation and give inputs on aspects of functionality,
usability, etc.
4. Designing test scenarios for user stories based on explicit and implicit requirements which in
turn should help to automate the tests.
5. Should be capable of creating automation Test bed Framework from scratch using different test
frameworks.
6. Review test scenarios written for user stories by peers.
7. Should be capable of planning testers’ capacity for the sprint during sprint planning if required.
8. Identify and update test cases to be added to regression test suite for current sprint features.
9. Identify and prioritize tests suitable for automation that add maximum value.
10. Identifying and highlighting risks in test execution to scrum team.
11. Deploy latest software test practices in the test team
12. Coach other testers in the project.
13. Logging defects, perform cross browser and application specific device validation
14. Analyse requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to design comprehensive test
scenarios Write clear, detailed, reusable manual test cases with defined steps, test data, and
expected results.
15. Execute manual test cycles: functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and exploratory
testing, Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects
Work Experience
Essentials:
1. Understanding and experience of software test methodologies & types of test automation
frameworks
2. AGILE scrum methodology experience & Safe agile is mandatory.
3. Hands-on experience on manual testing & automating web-based or PC based software
4. Experience in coaching other testers.
5. Understanding and experience of various aspects of software and system testing, Functional,
non-functional, integration, system, performance, robustness, compatibility, regression,
customer mode testing.
6. CANDIDATES WITH WORKING KNOWLEDGE & HANDS ON ANY AUTOMATION TOOL LIKE TEST
COMPLETE/PYTHON/SELENIUM WITH ROBOT FRAMEWORK ARE ESSENTIAL
7. WORKING KNOWLEDGE ON JAVASCRIPT, TYPE SCRIPT, PYTHON, SELENIUM, HTML, CCS
8. DESIGN BUILD AND MAINTAIN TEST AUTOMATION FRAMEWORKS USING
TYPESCRIPT/JAVASCRIPT WITH PLAYWRIGHT – MANDATORY
9. HANDS-ON TEST AUTOMATION EXPERIENCE WITH JAVASCRIPT AND TYPESCRIPT - MANDATORY
10. HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH PLAYWRIGHT FOR BOTH UI AND API AUTOMATION - MANDATORY
11. Develop and maintain automated regression and smoke suites; keep them stable, reliable,
and low-noise
12. Convert high-value manual regression cases into automated coverage
13. Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and report results back to the team
14. Automate API tests using Playwright's built-in API testing capabilities (APIRequestContext /
request fixture) in TypeScript.
15. Perform exploratory and manual API testing using Postman or equivalent tools
16. Test REST services and SOAP services where applicable.
17. Validate applications against JSON/XML API contracts, including schema validation, error
handling, authentication, and negative scenarios.
18. Combine UI and API layers in end-to-end scenarios using API calls for test setup, data
seeding, and state verification.
19. Own quality assurance for assigned applications and features across frontend and backend
layers
General
20. Identify, log, prioritise, and track defects to closure reproduce issues and partner with
developers on root cause.
21. Contribute to test strategy, test plans, estimation, and quality gates within the SDLC.
22. Participate fully in Agile/Scrum ceremonies sprint planning, standups, reviews, and
retrospectives.
23. Ensure compliance with web, cloud, browser, and API standards.
24. CANDIDATES WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF DIFFERENT PROTOCOLS, LIKE MODBUS, HTTP, SNMP,
IEC61850 WORKING KNOWLEDGE ON WIRESHARK FRAME TRACE, MODBUS LOGS ETC WOULD
BE PREFERRED.
25. KNOWLEDGE ON ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION DEVICES ARE PREFERABLE.
Desirable:
1. Experience in using Atlassian tools: JIRA, Confluence
2. Rapid software testing, session-based testing, exploratory testing, context driven testing.
3. DESIGN AND EXECUTE PERFORMANCE, LOAD, AND STRESS TESTS USING GRAFANA K6 WITH A
TYPESCRIPT-BASED FRAMEWORK.
4. Define performance scenarios and thresholds, analyse results, and report bottlenecks to the
development team.
5. CYPRESS EXPERIENCE USING TYPESCRIPT, WHO ARE READY TO MOVE TO PLAYWRIGHT, WILL
ALSO BE CONSIDERED
6. Basic Shell scripting (Bash) for environment and automation tasks
7. Understanding of SOAP/XML alongside JSON
8. Testing of electrical / energy IoT devices — connected hardware, device telemetry, and
device-to-cloud communication
9. Experience with Grafana dashboards and observability tooling for interpreting performance
results
10. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or
GitHub Actions
11. Additional automation and API tools — Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, SoapUI, JMeter
12. SQL and database validation for backend verification
13. ISTQB or equivalent testing certification
