Position: Maintenance In-Charge
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reports To: Plant Manager / Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Maintenance In-Charge is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities to ensure the smooth operation of machinery, equipment, utilities, and facilities. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure all machinery, equipment, and utilities are operating efficiently.
- Monitor equipment performance and troubleshoot breakdowns.
- Supervise maintenance technicians, electricians, and contractors.
- Develop and maintain maintenance schedules and records.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize operational disruptions.
- Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare maintenance reports, budgets, and cost-control measures.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and equipment upgrades.
- Conduct inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Support installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant technical certifications are an advantage.
Experience
- Typically 3–8 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or facility management.
- Experience in manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, or commercial facilities may be preferred depending on the industry.
