A Web Developer in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry builds and scales digital platforms for high-volume consumer traffic. They focus on brand websites, Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) storefronts, and promotional microsites while ensuring seamless mobile responsiveness, fast load speeds, and tight integration with supply-chain APIs and inventory databases.
Key Responsibilities
- D2C & E-commerce Development: Build and maintain scalable, secure, and user-friendly e-commerce platforms (e.g., using WooCommerce, Shopify, or headless CMS).
- Front-End Development: Translate UI/UX designs into high-performance, mobile-first web pages using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
- Back-End & Database Integration: Create APIs to connect websites with backend systems, inventory management, and CRM platforms.
- Performance & SEO: Optimize websites for maximum speed, scalability, and SEO to handle high-volume FMCG product searches and campaign traffic.
- Security & Compliance: Implement rigorous data protection protocols, ensure PCI compliance for payments, and adhere to global consumer data privacy laws.
- Campaign Support: Rapidly deploy seasonal microsites, landing pages, and promotional features tied to FMCG marketing calendars.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (Node.js, Python, or PHP).
- E-commerce Expertise: Deep understanding of managing and scaling e-commerce ecosystems.
- Tools: Experience with Git for version control, CMS platforms (WordPress/Drupal), and wireframing tools.
