Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Operative Responsibilities
- Prepare Operation Theatre for bariatric surgical procedures.
- Check functionality of OT equipment, laparoscopic towers, energy devices, monitors, insufflators, and bariatric surgical instruments.
- Ensure availability of specialized bariatric equipment such as:
- Bariatric OT tables
- Patient positioning devices
- Extra-long surgical instruments
- Bariatric stretchers and wheelchairs
- Sequential Compression Devices (SCDs)
- Verify sterilization status of instruments and equipment.
- Assist in patient transfer and positioning while maintaining safety protocols.
Intra-Operative Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons, anesthetists, and nursing staff during bariatric surgeries.
- Handle, pass, and manage laparoscopic and bariatric surgical instruments.
- Operate and troubleshoot OT equipment as required.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection prevention practices.
- Monitor availability of consumables and instruments during procedures.
- Assist in specimen handling as per hospital policy.
Post-Operative Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, and prepare instruments for sterilization.
- Assist in safe transfer of patients from OT to recovery area.
- Ensure proper disposal of biomedical waste as per regulations.
- Maintain records of equipment usage and maintenance.
- Report any equipment malfunction immediately.
Equipment Management
- Maintain inventory of bariatric surgical instruments and consumables.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration of OT equipment.
- Ensure readiness of laparoscopic systems and energy devices.
- Maintain equipment logbooks and service records.
Infection Control & Safety
- Follow hospital infection control policies and NABH standards.
- Adhere to OT safety protocols and universal precautions.
- Participate in fire safety, biomedical waste management, and emergency preparedness activities.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety goals and surgical safety checklist requirements.
Documentation
- Maintain OT registers and equipment checklists.
- Record sterilization and instrument tracking details.
- Document equipment faults and maintenance requests.
- Support audit and quality improvement activities.
Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Certification in Laparoscopic/Minimal Access Surgery assistance preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 -10 years of experience in Operation Theatre services.
- Experience in bariatric and laparoscopic surgeries preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of bariatric surgical procedures and OT protocols.
- Understanding of infection control and sterilization practices.
- Ability to operate laparoscopic and OT equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and patient safety requirements.
Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
