We are expanding our team and looking for a dynamic, sharp, and highly motivated Field Reporter to be the face of our on-ground coverage.
Role Overview
As a Field Reporter for Bharat Ka Aina, you will be the dynamic on-screen presence of our channel. You will travel locally to cover breaking news, track public opinion, conduct ground interviews, and investigate civic and social issues.
While you will be the primary visual storyteller on camera, you will collaborate closely with our core production team, who will handle the primary narrative scripting and studio voice-overs. Your job is to capture the raw energy, authentic voices, and undeniable facts on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Camera Reporting: Host ground reports, conduct live or recorded street interviews (Vox Populi), and anchor special investigative packages.
- Story Scouting: Proactively identify compelling local stories, public grievances, civic issues, and cultural events relevant to our target audience.
- Interviewing: Conduct sharp, respectful, yet probing interviews with the general public, local authorities, and community leaders.
- Field Collaboration: Work closely with the videographer/editor to ensure high-quality frame composition, clear audio capture, and dynamic visual storytelling.
- Footage & Context Delivery: Provide well-organized raw footage along with detailed on-ground context, notes, and quotes to the editing and voice-over team for final production.
- Real-time Adaptation: Confidently handle unscripted, spontaneous situations on the ground while maintaining journalistic ethics and decorum.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in field reporting, digital media journalism, or a similar on-camera role (Freshers with exceptional confidence and a strong showreel are welcome to apply).
- Language Proficiency: Native or highly fluent command of Hindi (both spoken and written). Knowledge of local dialects/Chhattisgarhi is a massive advantage.
- On-Screen Presence: High energy, confident body language, excellent articulation, and the ability to command screen presence in crowded or high-pressure environments.
- Technical Awareness: Basic understanding of mobile journalism (MoJo) tools, lapel/shotgun mics, and framing concepts is preferred.
- Mobility: Must possess a valid driving license and own a two-wheeler for frequent local travel across field locations.
- Traits: Highly resilient, curious, objective, and capable of working under tight deadlines.
