Job Description: Quality Assurance Chemist

Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Executive will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes across manufacturing operations. The role involves monitoring product quality, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, conducting inspections, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Conduct incoming raw material, in-process, and finished product inspections.
- Perform physical and chemical testing as per established quality procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, SOPs, and customer specifications.
- Identify quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, test records, and calibration records.
- Coordinate with Production, R&D, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality-related concerns.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and support compliance initiatives.
- Monitor process parameters and recommend improvements to enhance product consistency.
- Handle customer complaints related to product quality and assist in investigations.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained as per schedule.
- Train shop floor personnel on quality standards and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing defects and process variation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in minerals, ceramics, clay, chemicals, or related process industries is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and quality control methodologies.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and CAPA.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 standards and quality documentation.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and reporting tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with laboratory testing and quality control instruments.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) is an added advantage.
