Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and supervise all library operations.
- Manage acquisition of books, journals, e-journals, databases, and other learning resources.
- Ensure compliance with NMC (National Medical Commission) norms and other regulatory requirements related to library facilities.
- Maintain cataloguing, classification, circulation, and inventory of library materials.
- Oversee digital library services and institutional access to online medical databases.
- Guide students, faculty, and researchers in literature search and reference services.
- Prepare library budgets, utilization reports, and annual statistics.
- Coordinate with academic departments for procurement of required learning resources.
- Ensure proper maintenance of library infrastructure, reading halls, and digital facilities.
- Supervise library staff and conduct periodic training.
- Implement library automation software and promote e-learning resources.
- Prepare reports for inspections, audits, and accreditation bodies.
Educational Qualification
- Master's Degree in Library & Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc / MLISc) from a recognized university.
- Preference will be given to candidates with NET/SET/Ph.D. in Library Science.
Experience
Required Experience
Minimum 10–15 years of experience in any recognized Medical College Library, out of which at least 5–8 years in a supervisory/administrative role.
Experience in handling medical journals, digital library systems, NMC inspection requirements, and library automation software is essential.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of Koha, SOUL, or other Library Management Systems.
- Familiarity with PubMed, MEDLINE, EBSCO, ProQuest, ClinicalKey, etc.
- Strong administrative and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Computer proficiency and report preparation skills.

- NMC compliance status.
- Digital resource usage statistics.
- Timely procurement and cataloguing.
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
