Position Overview
We are looking for a Design Engineer who can convert project requirements into clear, practical, and execution-ready engineering drawings and documentation.
The candidate will work closely with the project, site, fabrication, and management teams to develop drawings, layouts, design documents, quantity estimates, and technical details required for successful project execution.
The role requires a combination of technical drawing skills, engineering understanding, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt designs according to actual site conditions.
Key Responsibilities1. Design & Drafting
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and design documentation for ongoing projects.
- Develop accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using suitable CAD software.
- Prepare general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, piping layouts, and structural details as required.
- Convert conceptual requirements into practical and technically feasible designs.
2. Project-Specific Design
- Assist in the design and detailing of:
- Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)
- Faecal Sludge Treatment Plants (FSTP)
- Wastewater treatment systems
- Portable sanitation systems
- Environmental infrastructure
- Associated civil, structural, piping, and mechanical arrangements
3. Technical Documentation
- Prepare drawings, BOQs, material requirements, and other technical documents required for projects.
- Maintain proper revision control and ensure the latest drawings are available for execution.
- Review drawings for dimensions, quantities, specifications, and constructability before issue.
4. Site & Execution Support
- Coordinate with site engineers and project teams during execution.
- Understand site measurements and existing conditions and incorporate them into drawings.
- Revise designs and drawings based on site constraints, project changes, and client requirements.
- Provide technical clarification to the execution and fabrication teams whenever required.
5. Fabrication & Installation Support
- Prepare fabrication and installation drawings where required.
- Coordinate with fabrication teams to ensure that drawings are practical and suitable for manufacturing and installation.
- Identify drawing-related issues during fabrication or installation and assist in resolving them.
6. Quantity & Cost Support
- Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material take-offs.
- Calculate quantities from drawings and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project and procurement teams regarding material specifications and quantities.
7. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure drawings and design documents follow applicable project specifications, engineering practices, safety requirements, and relevant standards.
- Check drawings carefully before submission or release for execution.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across different project drawings and documents.
Required Technical Skills
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks, Revit, or other 3D/CAD software will be an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Understanding of civil, mechanical, structural, piping, or environmental engineering concepts.
- Ability to prepare BOQs and material quantity calculations.
- Basic understanding of fabrication and installation practices.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and other engineering documentation tools.
- Ability to understand technical specifications and project requirements.

Educational Qualification
B.E / B.Tech / Diploma in any of the following:
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Other relevant engineering disciplines
Experience
2–5 years of relevant experience in engineering design, drafting, infrastructure projects, wastewater/environmental projects, fabrication, or related areas.
Candidates with strong technical skills and relevant project exposure may also be considered based on their capabilities.
Salary
₹20,000 – ₹30,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications, technical skills, and overall suitability for the role.
Probation Period
The position will have a 6-month probation period. Confirmation of employment will be based on performance, technical capability, work quality, discipline, and overall suitability for the position.
