Job Summary
Sushrushah Hospital is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and motivated Physician Assistant to join our Orthopaedic team. The selected candidate will assist consultants in delivering high-quality patient care, coordinate clinical activities, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure smooth patient management in the OPD, wards, OT, and emergency services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Orthopaedic Consultants during OPD consultations, ward rounds, surgeries, and emergency cases.
- Record patient history, vital signs, and clinical findings.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Coordinate laboratory and radiology investigations.
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
- Monitor admitted patients and promptly report any changes in their condition to the treating consultant.
- Prepare discharge summaries, referral notes, and other clinical documentation.
- Educate patients and their attendants regarding treatment plans, medications, rehabilitation, and follow-up care.
- Coordinate effectively with nursing, physiotherapy, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant (BPA/B.Sc. Physician Assistant) from a recognized institution.
- Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome to apply.
- Experience in Orthopaedics, Emergency Medicine, or Surgical Specialties will be an added advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge and patient assessment skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer knowledge and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night duties when required.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to quality patient care.
Preference
- Candidates residing within 15–20 km of Sushrushah Hospital, Nagercoil, will be given preference.
