Job Title: Edge Banding Machine Operator
Full job description
An Edge Banding Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining edge banding machines to apply edge tape to furniture panels (MDF, plywood, particle board) ensuring a smooth, durable, and high-quality finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate edge banding machine to apply PVC/ABS/veneer edge tape
- Set up machine parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, glue settings)
- Ensure proper alignment and bonding of edge tape
- Trim, buff, and finish edges for a clean look
- Read and follow production drawings and cutting lists
- Inspect finished panels for quality (no gaps, bubbles, or uneven edges)
- Perform routine machine cleaning and maintenance
- Monitor glue levels, heating system, and rollers
- Identify and fix minor machine issues
- Maintain production logs and reports
- Follow safety guidelines and use PPE
Required Skills
- Knowledge of edge banding machine operation
- Understanding of materials like MDF, plywood, laminates
- Attention to detail and finishing quality
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work under production targets
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Carpentry, Mechanical, or related field
- 2-4 years experience in furniture or woodworking industry (preferred)
Work Environment
- Factory / modular furniture manufacturing unit
- Exposure to wood dust, glue, and machine noise
- Shift work may be required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹9,370.74 - ₹31,858.37 per month
