The Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) will serve as the primary growth architect for Sigma India, leading the strategic expansion of our high-value engineering consulting, digital innovation, and technical B2B service portfolios. This C-suite executive will design and execute our macro-level global market penetration strategy—focusing specifically on multi-million dollar international contracts, high-yield enterprise partnerships, and cross-border delivery models. The CBDO will move past transactional sales pipelines to cultivate an elite ecosystem of strategic alliances, consortiums, and premium executive matchmaking with industrial, technical, and corporate leaders worldwide.
Key Responsibilities1. Macro Strategy & Global Market Architecture
Cross-Border Market Penetration: Design and execute the multi-year blueprint for scaling technical consulting and delivery capacity into high-yield international markets (including Europe, the Gulf region, Australia, and Latin America).
Strategic Portfolio Mapping: Continuously analyze international engineering labor dynamics, technology shifts, and emerging demands to align Sigma’s technical capabilities (embedded software, digital transformation, industrial automation) with enterprise-level commercial budgets.
Premium Brand Positioning: Establish Sigma India as the premier consultative partner of choice for global organizations through exclusive, peer-to-peer executive matchmaking channels, high-stakes roundtables, and international business forums.
2. High-Ticket Relationship Architecture & Alliances
Executive Matchmaking: Initiate and anchor personal, peer-level relationships with global CXOs, Technical Directors, and industrial decision-makers to build long-term institutional trust.
Consortiums & Joint Ventures: Orchestrate strategic alliances and joint ventures with complementary international firms to bid on complex, mega-scale engineering and technical contracts.
Complex Contract Negotiation: Personally oversee the structuring, commercial profiling, and closing of high-value, long-cycle enterprise agreements (typically 6 to 12-month deal cycles).
3. Pipeline Engineering & Delivery Integration
Institutional Pipeline Governance: Overhaul and govern the international business development pipeline, ensuring optimal conversion velocity from initial strategic dialogue to signed delivery frameworks.
Resource & Cost Architecture: Collaborate intimately with internal Engineering Directors, Delivery Heads, and project managers to ensure precise resource utilization modeling and cost-benefit alignment before locking in complex proposals.
Proposal Integrity: Set the standards for elite, customized, high-stakes technical bids and RFQs, ensuring a near-flawless articulation of operational ROI and commercial risk mitigation for global buyers.
Required Executive Profile
Experience: 12+ years of aggressive growth and business development experience within a Tier-1 engineering consulting, specialized IT delivery, or enterprise-grade technical B2B ecosystem. At least 5 years must be in a senior leadership or executive capacity managing cross-border commercial portfolios.
International Commercial Acumen: Proven history of securing and managing high-ticket, complex international enterprise accounts, with deep practical knowledge of global contract laws, multi-regional cost frameworks, and cultural business etiquette.
Technical & Consultative Gravitas: Exceptional capability to speak fluently and persuasively with technical specialists and engineers, bridging complex technical scopes (such as embedded design, automation, or enterprise data platforms) directly to corporate business value.
Leadership & Influence: Highly developed emotional intelligence and executive presence, with a proven track record of aligning multi-functional, international teams around complex, unified strategic targets.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a highly analytical field is essential.
