A furniture CNC operator programs, sets up, and runs woodworking CNC routers or nesting machines to cut, drill, and shape panels (MDF, plywood, or solid wood). They interpret production drawings, optimize material usage, conduct routine machine maintenance, and perform quality checks on finished furniture components.
8Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC routers and nesting machines to process panels as per technical drawings and cutting lists. [1, 2]
- Programming & Software: Load or edit CNC programs, input nesting layouts, and verify toolpaths using software like ArtCAM, AlphaCAM, or NC Studio. [1, 2]
- Material Handling: Load raw materials (e.g., MDF, plywood, pre-laminated boards) securely and safely into the machine. [1, 2]
- Quality Control: Inspect finished pieces for dimensional accuracy, chipping, and edge quality against blueprints; flag defects and adjust machine settings. [1, 2, 3]
- Maintenance: Perform daily checks, calibrate tools, clear dust/chips, and carry out routine preventive maintenance. [1, 2]
- Efficiency: Optimize material usage to minimize wastage and meet daily production targets. [1, 2]
