1. About the Role
- Aerospace & Medical component manufacturing and state-of-the-art machinery.
- Setting, proving out, and optimizing complex, close-tolerance components.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Setup & Proving: Perform complex setups on multi-axis machining centers (e.g., 5-axis mills, turn-mill centers). Prove out new components and validate machining sequences.
- Offsets & Editing: Work with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain). Set tool/work offsets and edit G-code at the machine.
- Quality Control: Interpret complex engineering drawings, understand GD&T, and conduct self-inspection using precision measuring equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose tooling issues, optimize cutting parameters, and resolve non-conformance issues.
3. Essential Qualifications
- Experience: Typically 3 to 8+ years of hands-on experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
- Education: Engineering, ITI, or Diploma.
- Technical Skills: Deep understanding of GD&T, tooling selection, and work-holding methods.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving ability, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to work calmly under pressure.
