Job Summary
A company in the freight forwarding and logistics space is hiring an experienced Export Documentation Executive to independently manage end-to-end shipment documentation across clients and lanes, and help make that documentation faster, cleaner, and error-free.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage end-to-end export/import documentation for assigned clients and lanes: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and shipping documents
- Draft and issue House Bill of Lading (HBL) and coordinate Master BL with shipping lines / carriers
- Scrutinize and prepare documents as per LC terms (UCP 600) and coordinate bank submissions
- Handle amendments, telex release, switch BL, surrender, and DO; resolve discrepancies before they cause demurrage, detention, or customs holds
- Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, CHAs, transporters, and overseas agents for bookings, space, and dispatch
- Manage complex shipments — transhipment, multimodal, cross-trade, and overseas agent coordination
- Prepare pre-alerts, manifests (IGM/EGM); maintain job files and documentation MIS
What We're Looking For
- Someone who doesn't just process documents but understands where and why they break, and wants to fix it
- A sharp, detail-obsessed operator who can help improve and modernize how trade documentation is done, with real ownership
- Comfortable working closely with a small, fast-moving team
- A strong network across freight forwarders, exporters, and CHAs is a significant advantage
Required Skills
- 4–8 years in export/import documentation at a freight forwarder, NVOCC, or CHA
- Strong on HBL/MBL, Incoterms, LC / UCP 600, customs / ICEGATE, and carrier & agent coordination
- (Optional)Familiarity with freight/EXIM software (CargoWise, Logi-Sys, or similar)
