Position Summary
A Tour & Travel Consultant is responsible for creating customized travel experiences by organizing tours, vacation packages, and travel itineraries for clients. The role requires excellent destination knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage travel bookings and logistics efficiently.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about travel, customer-oriented, and capable of delivering high-quality service while handling multiple travel arrangements professionally.
Key ResponsibilitiesClient Consultation
- Meet with clients to understand their travel preferences, budgets, and requirements.
- Provide expert guidance on destinations, accommodations, transportation, and travel activities.
- Recommend customized holiday packages and travel solutions.
Tour & Package Planning
- Design travel packages including flights, hotels, transportation, sightseeing, cruises, and activities.
- Promote and manage domestic and international holiday packages.
- Coordinate with hotels, airlines, transport providers, and tour operators for competitive pricing and availability.
Booking & Reservation Management
- Handle bookings for flights, hotels, tours, cruises, and other travel services.
- Ensure timely confirmation and accuracy of all reservations.
- Manage cancellations, amendments, and schedule changes efficiently.
Itinerary Creation
- Prepare detailed travel itineraries including schedules, hotel details, sightseeing plans, transportation, and emergency contacts.
- Ensure itineraries meet client expectations and travel requirements.
Customer Support
- Assist clients before, during, and after travel.
- Resolve travel-related issues such as delays, cancellations, or emergencies.
- Maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and communication.
Market Research & Promotion
- Stay updated on travel trends, tourism products, visa regulations, and destination updates.
- Support marketing campaigns through social media promotions and travel advertisements.
- Identify opportunities to expand travel offerings and improve customer engagement.
Budget & Cost Management
- Create travel plans within the client’s budget while maintaining service quality.
- Provide transparent quotations and explain all travel-related costs clearly.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with local and international travel regulations.
- Assist clients with visa applications, travel insurance, passport requirements, and related documentation.
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
- Degree, Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
- Tourism, Hospitality, or Travel Management background is preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in travel consultancy or tourism industry preferred.
- Familiarity with travel booking systems such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo is an advantage.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong customer service and sales skills.
- Good organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and travel software.
- Strong knowledge of international and domestic travel destinations.
- Multilingual communication skills are an added advantage.
