Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced mechatronics and robotic systems. This role requires strong technical leadership, system-level thinking, and the ability to manage cross-functional engineering teams in aerospace and related industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design, development, testing, and optimization of robotic and mechatronics systems
- Manage and mentor engineering teams, ensuring high-quality project execution
- Drive technical strategy, architecture decisions, and design reviews
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., aerospace standards like AS9100)
- Collaborate with business development teams to convert client requirements into technical solutions
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, risks, and delivery milestones
- Implement best practices such as Design Thinking, Kaizen, and Six Sigma
- Work on system integration involving sensors, actuators, motors, and IoT-based solutions
- Monitor project metrics and prepare technical reports for leadership
- Represent the organization in client meetings, technical discussions, and industry forums
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 8–12 years of experience in mechatronics / robotics development
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in leading engineering teams
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in circuit design, power electronics, and system integration
- Hands-on experience with tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, CAD software, and simulation tools
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CANBUS, TCP/IP, RS232)
- Experience with robotics frameworks (ROS, Gazebo) is preferred
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with quality methodologies like Six Sigma, Kaizen
- Familiarity with aerospace or advanced engineering standards
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel for client/vendor meetings (up to 20%)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
