Core Purpose of the Role
The main objective is to facilitate communication and coordination between the steel plant and external agencies so that:
- Statutory permissions and licenses are obtained and renewed on time.
- Regulatory compliance is maintained (environment, labour, safety, mining, power, etc.).

Typical Job Responsibilities
In an integrated steel plant (which usually includes mining, sinter/pellet, coke oven, blast furnace, steel melting shop, rolling mills, power plant, etc.), a Liaisoning Officer’s duties often include:
1. Government & Regulatory Liaison
- Coordinate with departments such as:
- Pollution Control Board (environmental clearances, consents, monitoring reports)
- Mining Department / Mines & Geology (mining leases, permissions, royalties)
- Electricity Board / Power Department (power sanctions, connections, tariffs)
- Factory Inspector / Labour Department / DISH (factory license, labour law compliance)
- Municipal Corporations / Local Bodies (building permissions, water, land use)

- Obtain and renew:
- Environmental Clearances (EC) and Consent to Establish/Operate (CTE/CTO)
- Factory License
- Mining permissions and related documents

2. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations specific to steel and mining:
- Environmental laws and conditions of clearance

Typical Profile & Skills
