Sports Goods & Toys Export Promotion Council (SGEPC) is the nodal agency of Ministry of Commerce & industry, Government of India promoting the export of sports goods and toys from India. The Council works closely with manufacturers, exporters, government bodies, and international buyers to expand global market access for Indian products. SGEPC facilitates trade delegations, international fairs, buyer–seller meets, and policy advocacy to strengthen the sector. The organization provides its members with market intelligence, export guidance, and support in navigating trade regulations. Role Description:
The Assistant Director will support the planning, coordination, and execution of SGEPC’s export promotion activities and member services. This full-time, on-site role is based in Delhi, India, and involves working closely with senior leadership, member companies, and government stakeholders.
Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing trade events, delegations, and promotional campaigns; Develop and maintain databases of international buyers, importers, distributors, retailers, and industry stakeholders, preparing reports, presentations, and official communications; and coordinating with members to understand their needs and provide timely assistance.
The role also includes identifying prospective exhibitors for India's premier B2B show for Sports Goods sector, Build relationships with industry stakeholders, Assist in international marketing and promotion activities, Support buyer recruitment and hosted buyer program, Prepare MIS reports, Finalization of Event Accounts and Event performance summaries,Maintain proper documentation and records related to the event.
The Assistant Director will help manage external relationships, respond to queries from national and international stakeholders, and ensure smooth administrative and operational support for council initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, Public Policy, Management, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in event management, trade promotion, business development, export promotion, market research, or related fields.
- Strong skills in project and event coordination, including planning, execution, and follow-up for trade fairs, delegations, and meetings.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including drafting reports, official correspondence, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Demonstrated analytical and research abilities, such as data collection, market analysis, and preparation of policy or industry briefs.
- Experience in stakeholder management and member relations with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfort with office productivity tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations) and openness to learn sector-specific digital platforms.
- Prior experience in export promotion councils, trade associations, industry bodies, or government/para-government organizations is an advantage.
- Understanding of international trade practices, export documentation, and government schemes will be considered beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a structured environment, with a professional, inclusive, and service-oriented approach.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
