Position:- Senior Legal Officer
Job Summary:- The Senior Legal Officer is responsible for providing legal advice, managing litigation, ensuring regulatory compliance, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and protecting the organization's legal interests. The role involves coordinating with external counsel, government authorities, and internal stakeholders to minimize legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and opinions to management on legal and regulatory matters.
- Handle and monitor civil, criminal, service, labour, property, and commercial litigation.
- Draft, review, and vet contracts, agreements, MOUs, legal notices, affidavits, petitions, and other legal documents.
- Represent the organization before courts, tribunals, arbitration proceedings, and statutory authorities, where applicable.
- Coordinate with external advocates and monitor litigation progress.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions.
- Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Liaise with government departments, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain legal records, case files, and litigation reports.
- Support dispute resolution through negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
- Keep management informed about significant legal developments affecting the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Enrollment with the Bar Council.
- LL.M. is preferred.
- 12–18 years of relevant experience in litigation and legal advisory
