Custodian – Job Summary
A Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, security, and overall upkeep of an institution's buildings and facilities. The role ensures a clean, hygienic, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, visitors, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10th/12th pass or equivalent. ITI or Diploma or any relevent experience
- Previous experience in housekeeping, facility maintenance, or custodial services is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks and lift moderate weights.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize assigned areas regularly.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and restroom consumables.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and maintain cleanliness around the premises.
- Inspect facilities and report maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards.
- Assist in setting up rooms, halls, and venues for meetings, events, and functions.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Support security and facility management teams when required.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure it is used safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to emergency cleaning and maintenance requirements.
