Department: Digital Water & Distribution
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: As per industry standards
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior SCADA & MIS Engineer to architect and develop the centralized SCADA and Management Information System (MIS) at the Central Control Room (CCR) for the water distribution network. This role focuses on visualizing hydraulic profiles, managing pressure zones, tracking reservoir levels, and generating Water Balance reports to support Non-Revenue Water (NRW) reduction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and configure the central SCADA system (e.g., Ignition, WinCC, Wonderware) for a highly distributed water distribution network with multiple remote nodes.
- Develop high-performance HMI screens displaying distribution network topology, DMA boundaries, pump statuses, and dynamic hydraulic gradient profiles.
- Implement alarm and event management strategies for distribution network events, including pressure drops, pipe bursts, pump trips, and reservoir overflows.
- Configure and maintain the process historian for high-frequency data logging to support DMA minimum night flow analysis, pressure monitoring, and performance tracking.
- Develop executive MIS dashboards integrating SCADA data with GIS and billing systems to generate daily Water Balance reports in accordance with International Water Association (IWA) standards.
- Automate daily and periodic reports covering zone-wise supply hours, pressure compliance, pump energy efficiency (kWh/ML), and reservoir utilization metrics.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 8–12 years of experience in SCADA system development and implementation.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic modeling integration, SQL databases, API-based data extraction, and enterprise reporting systems.
- Experience with SCADA platforms such as Ignition, WinCC, Wonderware, or equivalent.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- CCR System Uptime (>99.9%)
- Data Latency (<2 seconds)
- Successful GIS Integration
- Successful Billing System Integration
