A construction site supervisor oversees daily operations at a worksite to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. They manage construction crews, enforce health and safety regulations, coordinate subcontractors, and act as the primary link between on-site workers and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Management: Conduct routine site inspections to identify hazards, enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and implement emergency accident protocols.
- Team Supervision: Direct and instruct construction workers and subcontractors, monitor daily productivity, and evaluate crew performance.
- Project Execution: Interpret blueprints and building plans to ensure all work strictly conforms to project specifications and quality standards.
- Logistics & Resource Planning: Order construction materials, schedule necessary equipment maintenance, and ensure the site is adequately stocked.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records, track labor attendance, monitor inventory, and report daily progress to the Project Manager.
Essential Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a site supervisor, foreman, or similar role within the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read technical documents, CAD drawings, and blueprints.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of local building codes, hazard management techniques, and OSHA/regional health and safety standards.
