Job Summary
The Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the hospital's day-to-day operations during assigned shifts. The role acts as the central point of coordination between clinical and non-clinical departments, ensuring smooth hospital functioning, excellent patient experience, regulatory compliance, and effective handling of operational issues and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise overall hospital operations during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, front office, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, housekeeping, security, and maintenance departments.
- Monitor patient admissions, discharges, transfers, and bed occupancy.
- Address patient and attendant complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct regular hospital rounds to ensure cleanliness, safety, and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, infection control protocols, and safety regulations.
- Act as the primary escalation point for operational and patient-related concerns.
- Handle emergency situations and coordinate with relevant teams for immediate action.
- Monitor staff attendance, discipline, and shift coordination.
- Ensure smooth functioning of front office, billing, and patient registration processes.
- Prepare daily shift reports and communicate operational updates to management.
- Maintain incident logs and ensure proper documentation of critical events.
- Support hospital administration in achieving patient satisfaction and operational excellence.

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in hospital operations, administration, or patient services.
- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be an added advantage.
