Role Overview
We are looking for an Environmental Consultant to support environmental studies, statutory approvals, and sustainability initiatives for mining and mineral projects. The candidate will work closely with technical teams to ensure environmental compliance and assist in the preparation of project reports and regulatory submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) reports for mining and mineral projects.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and statutory requirements for obtaining Environmental Clearance (EC).
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities, including State Expert Appraisal Committees (SEAC), for project approvals.
- Conduct environmental baseline studies, field surveys, and impact assessment activities.
- Collect and analyze environmental data related to air, water, soil, biodiversity, and socio-economic conditions.
- Prepare half-yearly compliance reports and monitor adherence to environmental norms.
- Develop thematic maps, including land-use, drainage, contour, and environmental baseline maps using GIS tools.
- Assist in preparing technical presentations, project documentation, and regulatory submissions.
- Conduct site visits and environmental monitoring activities at mining locations.
- Support sustainability initiatives and environmental management programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), EMP preparation, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in coal, non-coal, limestone, or mining projects will be preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Pro, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in GPS mapping and environmental data analysis.
- Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations in India.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to travel to project sites and work in remote locations.
- Good team collaboration and project management skills.
Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, mining, or sustainability projects.
