The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all textile processing activities to ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining quality standards, delivery schedules, safety, and cost efficiency. The role includes managing dyeing, printing, finishing, and related processing operations, optimizing machine utilization, and leading production teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Control
- Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure timely completion of customer orders as per production plans.
- Monitor production output and machine efficiency.
- Optimize manpower and machine utilization.
- Coordinate with PPC, Sales, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments.
Production Operations
- Supervise all textile processing operations including:
- Fabric Preparation
- Dyeing
- Printing
- Stenter
- Finishing
- Inspection & Packing
- Ensure smooth workflow throughout the production process.
- Minimize production downtime and bottlenecks.
Quality Management
- Ensure production complies with approved quality standards.
- Monitor shade consistency, GSM, width, shrinkage, fastness, and finishing quality.
- Reduce reprocessing, rejections, and customer complaints.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team for continuous improvement.
Cost Control
- Control processing costs by minimizing:
- Chemical consumption
- Dye consumption
- Water usage
- Steam consumption
- Electricity consumption
- Improve productivity while reducing wastage.
Team Management
- Lead and motivate supervisors, shift in-charges, and operators.
- Allocate manpower effectively.
- Conduct daily production meetings.
- Provide training and performance guidance to staff.
Machine & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure machines remain in good working condition.
- Minimize machine breakdowns through proactive planning.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with factory safety standards.
- Promote safe work practices.
- Ensure proper use of PPE.
- Maintain housekeeping as per 5S standards.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and statutory regulations.
Inventory & Material Control
- Monitor availability of grey fabric, chemicals, dyes, and consumables.
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores departments.
- Prevent excess inventory and material shortages.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily production reports.
- Monitor production KPIs.
- Analyze production losses and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain production records and process documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Textile Technology / Textile Engineering / Textile Processing.
- 10–15 years of experience in textile processing.
Pay: ₹65,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
