Job Summary
The Construction Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of ground-mounted solar PV projects, ensuring timely completion while maintaining quality, safety, and project compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution
- Lead and manage complete site execution activities for ground-mounted solar PV projects.
- Plan, monitor, and control project activities to achieve project milestones and completion targets.
- Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, and commissioning activities at site.
- Ensure installation of MMS, solar modules, inverters, transformers, HT/LT systems, switchyards, and transmission line works as per approved drawings.
Site Management
- Manage site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and labor teams.
- Conduct daily progress reviews and ensure optimum resource utilization.
- Monitor material requirements, receipt, storage, and consumption at site.
- Resolve site execution challenges and coordinate with design and procurement teams.
Quality Control
- Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor construction quality of foundations, MMS erection, module installation, cable laying, and electrical works.
- Coordinate inspections and testing activities.
Safety Management
- Enforce HSE policies and safety procedures across project sites.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client safety requirements.
Reporting
- Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR).
- Track project schedules and highlight risks affecting timelines.
- Maintain project documentation and site records.
Testing & Commissioning
- Support testing, commissioning, synchronization, and project handover activities.
- Ensure punch-point closure and completion of final project documentation.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience in Solar EPC projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in utility-scale ground-mounted solar PV projects.
- Proven experience handling projects with a cumulative capacity of 500+ MWp.
- Experience managing multiple contractors and large site teams.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of solar PV plant construction and commissioning.
- Expertise in MMS installation, module erection, HT/LT cable laying, switchyard works, and substation interfaces.
- Ability to read and interpret SLDs, layouts, GA drawings, and construction drawings.
- Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Reporting To: Project Manager
Travel Requirement: Extensive travel and site deployment as per project requirements.
