We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter with hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial valves, piping systems, pumps, and related mechanical equipment. The candidate should be capable of reading technical drawings, performing precision fitting work, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, align, and dismantle mechanical equipment, piping systems, and valves.
- Perform maintenance and repair of gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, control, and safety relief valves.
- Conduct valve inspection, lapping, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Fabricate, fit, and modify pipes, flanges, supports, and fittings according to drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret P&ID drawings, isometric drawings, and engineering documents.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges.
- Perform hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak testing of piping and valve systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades during shutdowns and maintenance projects.
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Experience in industrial plants such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power, water treatment, manufacturing, or shipyard industries.
- Knowledge of valve maintenance, piping systems, flange management, and mechanical fitting practices.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.
