Job Summary
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing overall store and warehouse operations including inventory management, material inward and outward, stock control, warehouse organization, documentation, dispatch coordination, and ensuring uninterrupted material availability for production. The role requires effective coordination with production, purchase, quality, accounts, and logistics teams to maintain efficient inventory flow and operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records of raw materials, consumables, WIP, and finished goods.
- Ensure optimum stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation.
Material Inward & Outward
- Supervise material receiving, unloading, inspection coordination, and GRN preparation.
- Ensure timely issuance of materials to production departments.
- Monitor dispatch activities for finished goods and other materials.
- Ensure manage timely Import and Export packaging list and delivery scheduling.
Warehouse Management
- Ensure proper storage, labelling, binning, and preservation of materials.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO practices in store operations.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, safety, and 5S standards.
Documentation & ERP Management
- Maintain all inward, outward, stock, and dispatch records.
- Ensure timely ERP/Tally/SAP entries for all inventory transactions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with Purchase department for pending materials and deliveries.
- Coordinate with Production team to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
- Coordinate with Accounts for inventory reconciliation and audits.
Team Supervision
- Supervise store staff, helpers, and warehouse operators.
- Allocate daily work and monitor team productivity.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies.
Audit & Compliance
- Ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
- Maintain compliance with company SOPs and inventory procedures.
- Ensure safe material handling practices and compliance with safety norms.
Cost & Loss Control
- Minimize inventory losses, damages, and handling errors.
- Monitor slow-moving and dead stock materials.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in store operations.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate / Diploma in Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, Commerce, or related field.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in store and warehouse management in manufacturing industry.
- Experience in ERP/Tally/SAP systems preferred.
- LED/Electrical/Electronics manufacturing experience will be an added advantage.
