The Lighting Designer will be responsible for creating innovative, functional, and aesthetically refined lighting solutions for commercial, hospitality, retail, and infrastructure projects. The role involves developing lighting concepts, preparing technical drawings and calculations, coordinating with project and site teams, and supporting execution to ensure the final installation matches the approved design intent.
Key Responsibilities
Lighting Concept & Design Development
● Develop lighting concepts aligned with architectural and interior design intent
● Translate project requirements into effective lighting strategies
● Create lighting layouts, zoning plans, and fixture positioning
● Select appropriate luminaires based on function, aesthetics, and efficiency
Technical Design & Documentation
● Prepare detailed lighting drawings, fixture schedules, and specifications
● Perform basic to intermediate lux calculations and simulations
● Develop lighting control concepts where required
● Ensure compliance with lighting standards and energy efficiency guidelines
Coordination & Execution Support
● Coordinate with architects, interior designers, consultants, and project teams
● Provide technical clarifications to site engineers during installation
● Support site visits to verify correct installation, aiming, and focusing
● Assist in testing, commissioning, and final handover
Design Revisions & Quality Control
● Manage design revisions based on site conditions or client feedback
● Ensure design integrity is maintained during execution
● Prepare as-built drawings and final documentation
● Support snag resolution and final inspections
Tools & Technical Skills (Mandatory) Lighting & Technical Knowledge
● Strong understanding of lighting fundamentals (lux levels, glare, beam angles, color temperature, CRI)
● Knowledge of architectural, decorative, and outdoor lighting applications
● Familiarity with luminaire types, drivers, mounting methods, and accessories
Software & Tools
● AutoCAD (Mandatory) – lighting layouts and coordination drawings
● Lighting design software: Dialux / Relux (preferred)
● MS Excel – fixture schedules, BOQs, and calculations
● MS Word / Google Docs – documentation and reports
● Basic knowledge of Photoshop / InDesign (optional, for presentations)
Qualifications
● Degree / Diploma in:
○ Lighting Design
○ Architecture
○ Interior Design
○ Electrical Engineering
○ or a related discipline
Experience
● prior experience in lighting design or architectural/interior lighting
● Experience working on commercial, hospitality, retail, or infrastructure projects preferred
● Exposure to site coordination and execution is a strong advantage

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
