Role Description
The Factory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata, with 5-10 years of experience, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day production operations of Matrix's manufacturing facility, with particular ownership of the AHU (Air Handling Unit) and cabinet-type fan production lines. Day-to-day tasks include planning and scheduling production to meet delivery timelines, supervising shop-floor teams across fabrication, assembly, and quality-check stages, and ensuring builds meet AMCA/AHRI and other applicable technical standards. The role involves monitoring production quality and resolving fit, tolerance, and assembly issues as they arise on the AHU and cabinet fan lines, driving continuous improvement in manufacturability, cost, and throughput, and maintaining safety and compliance across the plant floor. The Factory Manager will also coordinate with engineering, sourcing, and sales teams on production capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments, and will manage staffing, training, and performance of production personnel.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess hands-on or supervisory experience in the manufacturing of both AHUs and cabinet-type fans — direct plant-floor production or plant management experience, not corporate/R&D-only backgrounds.
- Hands on experience in AHU Selection Software
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication tolerances, coil and motor sourcing, duct static pressure specifications, and panel line production flow.
- Familiarity with AMCA, AHRI, and/or UL certification requirements for air-moving equipment is required.
- Proven experience managing production teams, shift schedules, and shop-floor staffing in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production planning, quality control processes, and plant safety/compliance standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing and plant management experience in lieu of a degree.
- Working familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) sufficient to read and interpret production drawings.
- Ability to work on-site in Kolkata, manage multiple production priorities, and maintain organized plant documentation and reporting.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate effectively across production, engineering, sourcing, and sales-engineering teams.
- Prior experience at an AHU or fan OEM, or exposure to lean manufacturing/continuous improvement programs, is an advantage.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
