Job Summary
The Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's fleet operations, ensuring maximum vehicle availability, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency, and safe transportation. The role includes managing vehicle maintenance, driver performance, fuel consumption, documentation, and vendor coordination to ensure smooth day-to-day fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's fleet.
- Ensure optimum utilization and availability of all vehicles.
- Plan and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns.
- Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, insurance renewals, permits, fitness certificates, and pollution certificates.
- Monitor vehicle tracking systems (GPS) and ensure route optimization.
- Track fuel consumption and implement measures to reduce fuel costs.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including maintenance history and vehicle documentation.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, road safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage driver allocation, attendance, performance, and training.
- Investigate vehicle accidents or incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with transport vendors, service centers, insurance providers, and government authorities.
- Prepare fleet performance reports, maintenance reports, fuel analysis, and cost reports.
- Monitor fleet operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure timely renewal of licenses, registrations, permits, and statutory documents.
- Support new vehicle procurement, inspections, and disposal of old vehicles.
- Handle emergency vehicle breakdowns and provide operational support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any related field.
- 4–6 years of experience in fleet management, logistics, transportation, or operations.
- Experience in managing commercial vehicles and driver teams is preferred.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
