Job Summary
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and smooth operation of all engineering systems and equipment in the hotel. The role ensures that the property is safe, well-maintained, energy-efficient, and compliant with applicable safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the engineering and maintenance team.
- Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, generator, elevator, fire safety, and water systems.
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Attend and resolve maintenance complaints from guests and hotel departments.
- Monitor daily maintenance activities and assign work to technicians.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, kitchen, laundry, and back-of-house areas.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of essential equipment and utilities.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for major repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain records of equipment maintenance, repairs, breakdowns, and service reports.
- Monitor energy and water consumption and implement cost-saving measures.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and statutory regulations.
- Prepare the engineering department budget and control maintenance expenses.
- Maintain adequate stock of engineering spare parts and tools.
- Respond to emergency situations such as power failures, water leakage, equipment breakdowns, and fire emergencies.
- Train and guide engineering staff on safety procedures and technical skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering.
- Experience in hotel engineering and maintenance operations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, fire safety, and building maintenance.
- Good leadership and team-management skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and work under pressure.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
