Team Lead - Biology

Position Purpose

To perform and support in vitro biological experiments in cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology while ensuring adherence to SOPs, biosafety, and quality standards. The role contributes to generation of reliable experimental data through accurate execution of assays, documentation, and laboratory maintenance. To support study execution through collaboration, troubleshooting, and scientific learning.

Strategic Responsibilities

Contribute inputs during experimental planning and method development.
Stay updated on emerging techniques in cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology.
Support continuous improvement of laboratory practices and assay workflows.

Operational Responsibilities

Perform cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology experiments as per study requirements.
Maintain and handle mammalian cell cultures using aseptic techniques.
Perform transfection for gene/protein expression studies.
Perform integrated drug discovery-based experiments aimed at screening compounds.
Perform target protein degradation-based assays.
Record, analyze, and maintain accurate experimental documentation.
Ensure laboratory equipment and workspace maintenance.
Comply with biosafety, GLP, and internal quality standards.
Support troubleshooting and reporting of experimental findings.

Financial Responsibilities

Ensure responsible use of reagents, consumables, and laboratory resources.
Support tracking of assay materials and inventory usage.
Contribute to minimizing experimental rework through accurate execution.

People Responsibilities

Collaborate with study directors during study execution.
Share experimental observations and findings with supervisors/team members.
Follow safety and compliance expectations within the laboratory environment.

Education Qualification

MSc in Biology/Biotechnology from a reputed University / Institute

Work Experience

E1: Freshers or up to 1 year of industry internship/apprenticeship experience in a laboratory setting
E2-E4: 2-10 years of experience in Biology in CRO companies

Functional Competencies

Cell Culture Techniques: Ability to maintain and handle mammalian cell cultures under aseptic conditions
Biochemistry assays and techniques: ability to execute and handle biochemical assays.
PBMC Handling & Characterization: Knowledge of isolation and immune response assessment methods.
Molecular Biology Techniques: Understanding of transfection and gene/protein expression workflows.
Experimental Documentation: Accurate recording and maintenance of experimental data and records.
Data Analysis Awareness: Basic interpretation of assay results and reporting observations.
Biosafety & GLP Compliance: Understanding of laboratory safety, biosafety, and procedural compliance requirements.
Equipment Handling: Proper use and routine care of laboratory instruments.
Scientific Collaboration: Working effectively within research teams during study execution
