Job Description – Senior Optometrist (Contact Lens Specialist)
Job Title: Senior Optometrist – Contact Lens Specialist
Department: Optometry
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Optometrist with strong knowledge of contact lens fitting and patient care. The candidate will be responsible for comprehensive eye testing, contact lens consultation, fitting, follow-up care, and assisting ophthalmologists in delivering quality vision services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments.
- Perform refraction and prescribe spectacles/contact lenses.
- Handle contact lens fitting for soft, RGP, toric, multifocal, and specialty lenses.
- Educate patients on contact lens usage, hygiene, and maintenance.
- Manage contact lens trials and follow-up consultations.
- Assist doctors in OPD and diagnostic procedures when required.
- Maintain accurate patient records and reports.
- Guide junior optometrists and support staff.
- Ensure excellent patient counseling and customer service.
- Coordinate with optical and clinical teams for smooth workflow.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Optometry.
- Minimum 5–15 years of experience as an Optometrist.
- Strong knowledge of contact lens fitting and management.
- Good communication and patient handling skills.
- Experience in an eye hospital or optical setup preferred.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic instruments and diagnostic procedures.
