Job Summary
Sri Muthukumaran Medical College & Research Institute is seeking a detail-oriented and organized MRD Technician to manage and maintain patient medical records accurately and confidentially. The ideal candidate will ensure proper documentation, record retrieval, data management, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, organize, and update inpatient and outpatient medical records.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of patient case sheets.
- Retrieve, issue, and file medical records as requested by authorized departments.
- Verify the completeness of medical records before archiving.
- Perform medical record indexing, coding, and filing as per hospital protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure timely completion of records.
- Assist in digitization and electronic medical record (EMR) management.
- Prepare departmental reports and maintain record statistics.
- Support accreditation activities (NABH/NMC) by ensuring proper documentation.
- Follow hospital policies, infection control practices, and quality standards.
Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Medical Record Science, Health Information Management, Hospital Administration, or a related healthcare discipline.
- Freshers or candidates with 1–3 years of experience in a hospital Medical Records Department are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital documentation practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is an added advantage.
