Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and result-driven Head of Engineering to lead planning, estimation, execution monitoring, and cost control activities for high-rise residential and commercial real estate projects. This role will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence, statutory compliance, quality standards, and timely project delivery while maintaining strict cost and budget control.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Review and finalize construction methodologies, sequencing, schedules, and detailed estimations.
- Ensure adherence to approved drawings, BOQs, specifications, and execution standards.
- Monitor project progress and prepare monthly/quarterly reports for management review.
- Track construction budgets and support corrective actions to control deviations.
Design & Engineering Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP consultants, and proof-checking agencies.
- Review drawings for constructability, optimization, and execution feasibility.
- Ensure compliance with NBC, IS Codes, and local authority regulations.
- Resolve design and execution-related technical issues at site in a timely manner.
Cost Control & Budget Management
- Monitor material consumption, wastage control, and contractor billing accuracy.
- Support procurement teams by defining technical specifications and vendor evaluation inputs.
- Review variations, extra items, and contractor claims.
- Ensure effective cost monitoring and budget adherence across projects.
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead planning, billing, and execution engineering teams at site and corporate office.
- Define KPIs and performance benchmarks for engineering staff.
- Develop technical capabilities and succession planning within the engineering team.
- Promote best practices, quality standards, and safety culture.
Stakeholder & Management Reporting
- Provide regular project updates to senior management on progress, risks, and financial status.
- Coordinate with government authorities and external stakeholders for technical approvals.
- Act as the organization’s technical representative for major project discussions and reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BE/BTech) is mandatory.
- Master’s degree (ME/MTech) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 25+ years of experience in real estate construction and project engineering.
- At least 5–7 years in a senior leadership or Head of Engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience in high-rise residential and commercial projects with end-to-end exposure to planning, estimation, execution, and cost control.
Skills:
- Strong expertise in high-rise RCC construction, MEP coordination, and large-scale project execution.
- In-depth knowledge of NBC, IS Codes, local authority regulations, and statutory approvals.
- Advanced proficiency in project planning tools (MS Project / Primavera).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, ERP systems, estimation and billing software.
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge related to construction projects.
