About the Role
We are a growing EdTech company committed to making quality education accessible to everyone. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented SEO Executive to join our Marketing team and help drive organic growth across our digital platforms.
In this role, you will work closely with the Senior SEO Executive and Content team to implement on-page optimizations, support link-building efforts, conduct keyword research, and monitor performance. This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong SEO foundation, develop hands-on expertise, and grow within a fast-paced, mission-driven company.
Key Responsibilities
1. On-Page SEO Optimization
- Optimize title tags, meta descriptions, header tags (H1–H3), and URL structures for assigned pages, blog posts, and course landing pages.
- Support the implementation of structured data / schema markup (FAQPage, Course, BreadcrumbList) using Google's guidelines.
- Assist in writing and optimizing SEO-friendly content briefs for the content team, incorporating primary and secondary keywords naturally.
- Conduct regular on-page audits to identify and flag issues such as missing meta tags, duplicate content, thin pages, and broken internal links.
- Optimize images (alt text, file names, compression) and improve internal linking structures across the website.
2. Link Building & Off-Page SEO
- Support outreach campaigns for backlink acquisition through guest posting, directory submissions, and resource page link building.
- Assist in identifying link building opportunities using Ahrefs or Semrush — including competitor backlink analysis and broken link opportunities.
- Help manage and track outreach correspondence, follow-ups, and link placement logs.
- Monitor brand mentions and support unlinked mention conversion efforts.
- Assist in periodic backlink profile audits to identify low-quality or spammy links for disavowal.
3. Technical SEO — Monitoring & Support
- Use Google Search Console and Screaming Frog to identify crawl errors, coverage issues, and indexation problems; escalate fixes to the senior team or developers.
- Monitor Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) for key pages and flag performance issues to the engineering team.
- Support the maintenance of XML sitemaps and robots.txt files under senior guidance.
- Assist in identifying redirect issues, canonical tag errors, and duplicate URL problems.
- Stay updated on Google algorithm announcements and share key updates with the team.
4. Keyword Research & Content Planning
- Conduct keyword research using Google Keyword Planner, Ahrefs, and Semrush to identify high-potential search terms for blogs, landing pages, and course categories.
- Map keywords to the correct funnel stages (informational, navigational, transactional) and content types.
- Assist in building and maintaining a keyword tracker spreadsheet and monthly content calendar.
- Identify trending topics, seasonal search patterns, and People Also Ask (PAA) opportunities relevant to the EdTech space.
- Support topical cluster planning by identifying content gap opportunities for the senior team to action.
5. Competitor Analysis
- Perform basic competitor SEO audits — tracking keyword overlaps, content gaps, and backlink sources using Semrush or Ahrefs.
- Monitor competitors' ranking movements and new content publication patterns on a monthly basis.
- Compile structured competitor reports and present key findings to the senior SEO team.
6. Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Track and report weekly organic performance metrics: sessions, impressions, average position, and CTR using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Search Console.
- Assist in building and maintaining SEO reporting dashboards using Looker Studio (Google Data Studio).
- Maintain accurate keyword ranking reports using rank tracking tools (Ahrefs, Semrush, or SERPWatcher).
- Document SEO activities, changes made, and their observed impact in a shared activity log.
- Actively learn to interpret data and suggest optimization ideas based on performance trends.
