Role Summary:
We are looking for a Data & Analytics Engineer with expertise in Power BI and the Azure data ecosystem to design, develop, and optimize enterprise reporting and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in data modelling, BI migrations, ETL/ELT development, and cloud-based analytics platforms, enabling business stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and datasets in Power BI using DAX, Power Query (M), and star-schema modelling.
- Administer Power BI workspaces, gateways, row-level security (RLS), and Premium/Fabric capacities.
- Build and optimize data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics/Fabric, and Azure SQL.
- Support and execute OBIEE/OAS to Power BI migration projects, including report inventory, business logic mapping, validation, and decommissioning activities.
- Develop and maintain robust SQL and PL/SQL scripts, ETL/ELT processes, and data transformation pipelines.
- Create and manage paginated reports, deployment pipelines, and version control for BI assets.
- Implement data governance and quality frameworks, including data lineage, cataloguing, and reconciliation processes using Microsoft Purview.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reporting reliability.
- Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives by building data pipelines that enable Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, and Python-based use cases.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling, RLS, workspace, and gateway administration.
- Experience with the Azure data platform, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics/Fabric, and Azure SQL.
- Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL development and ETL/ELT pipeline implementation.
- Experience with OBIEE/OAS, including RPD metadata modelling, Answers, and Dashboards.
- Proven experience in OBIEE to Power BI migration projects.
- Knowledge of Power BI Premium/Fabric capacity management, deployment pipelines, paginated reports, and BI artifact version control.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and Microsoft Purview.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure Databricks.
- Exposure to Azure OpenAI, Azure Machine Learning, and Python for analytics and AI-driven solutions.
- Knowledge of enterprise data architecture, governance frameworks, and cloud-based analytics best practices.
- Experience working in large-scale data modernization and BI transformation initiatives.
