About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on AI & Edge Hardware Developer to build and deploy real-world AI-powered automation systems.
At Clofus Innovations, we develop computer vision and AI systems for warehouses and factories. Our products use cameras, AI models, edge computers, sensors, and custom hardware to automate tasks such as inventory tracking, carton detection and counting, dimension measurement, dispatch verification, safety monitoring, and industrial process automation.
This is not a purely software or research role.
You will work on the complete journey—from experimenting with AI models and cameras to integrating hardware, deploying systems at customer sites, and solving real-world problems.
What You Will DoAI & Computer Vision Development
- Develop and optimize computer vision solutions using Python.
- Train, test, and deploy object detection, classification, segmentation, OCR, and anomaly detection models.
- Work with models and frameworks such as YOLO, OpenCV, ONNX, PyTorch, TensorRT, and other modern AI frameworks.
- Improve accuracy and performance for challenging real-world environments.
- Work with camera streams, RTSP, image processing, and video analytics.
- Collect, analyse, and prepare datasets for model training and testing.
- Optimize AI models for edge devices.
Edge AI & Hardware Development
- Work with edge computing platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, and industrial PCs.
- Integrate cameras, sensors, lighting, networking equipment, and other hardware components.
- Develop and test prototype hardware systems for AI-based automation.
- Understand USB, Ethernet, GPIO, serial communication, and other hardware interfaces.
- Assist in selecting suitable cameras, lenses, lighting, sensors, and edge computing hardware.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and performance issues.
- Optimize systems for reliability in industrial and warehouse environments.
Product Development & Deployment
- Convert customer problems into practical AI and automation solutions.
- Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
- Participate in installation, testing, and commissioning at customer locations when required.
- Analyse failures and continuously improve system accuracy and reliability.
- Work closely with the software and engineering team to integrate AI systems with dashboards, APIs, ERP, WMS, and other enterprise systems.
- Document experiments, system configurations, and technical findings.
Required Skills
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Good understanding of Computer Vision and Image Processing.
- Experience with OpenCV.
- Experience with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch.
- Experience working with object detection models such as YOLO or similar architectures.
- Understanding of model training, inference, datasets, augmentation, and evaluation metrics.
- Basic understanding of Linux.
- Experience or strong interest in edge AI devices such as NVIDIA Jetson or Raspberry Pi.
- Understanding of cameras, video streams, USB, Ethernet, and networking basics.
- Ability to troubleshoot both software and hardware problems.
- Comfortable working with physical systems, prototypes, cameras, sensors, and industrial environments.
- Strong problem-solving ability and curiosity.
Preferred Skills
These are not mandatory, but experience in any of the following will be an advantage:
- NVIDIA Jetson and TensorRT.
- ONNX Runtime.
- CUDA acceleration.
- OCR systems.
- Anomaly detection.
- Segmentation models.
- Industrial cameras and machine vision systems.

What We Are Looking For
More than specific technologies, we are looking for someone who enjoys building things and solving real problems.
You should be comfortable with situations like:
“The AI model works perfectly on a laptop, but the customer-site camera produces poor results. Why?”
or
“The model is accurate, but inference is too slow on the edge device. How can we optimize it?”
or
“The detection accuracy drops because of lighting, camera angle, vibration, or carton variation. Should we solve it with AI, optics, lighting, hardware, or a combination of all four?”
The ideal candidate understands that not every problem should be solved by training a bigger AI model. Sometimes the best solution is better lighting, camera placement, hardware design, image processing, or a smarter combination of AI and engineering.
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Strong self-taught candidates with relevant projects and practical experience are also encouraged to apply.
- Freshers with strong hands-on projects may be considered.
