OT IN-CHARGE – JOB DESCRIPTION
Department: Operation Theatre
Position: OT In-Charge
Experience: 3–5 Years Preferred
Qualification: B.Sc. Nursing / GNM / OT Technician / OT Technology
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily OT operations and surgical schedules.
- Supervise OT staff and prepare duty/on-call rosters.
- Ensure OT, instruments, implants and equipment are ready before surgery.
- Ensure compliance with NABH, infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Maintain aseptic practices, OT cleaning and sterilization coordination with CSSD.
- Ensure completion of WHO Surgical Safety Checklist and required OT documentation.
- Maintain OT instruments, consumables, implants and inventory.
- Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate maintenance/calibration.
- Maintain OT registers, checklists and audit records.
- Report incidents, equipment failures and infection-control breaches.
- Conduct staff training and maintain OT discipline.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anaesthesia, nursing, CSSD, housekeeping and administration.
