Job Summary
The ETP Operator is responsible for the efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to ensure that wastewater is treated in compliance with environmental regulations and company standards. The role includes routine inspections, record keeping, preventive maintenance, and ensuring uninterrupted plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) as per approved SOPs.
- Monitor treatment parameters such as pH, TDS, COD, BOD, MLSS, flow rate, and chemical dosing.
- Record operational data and maintain ETP logbooks and daily reports.
- Ensure treated effluent meets Pollution Control Board (PCB) norms and statutory requirements.
- Perform routine inspections of pumps, blowers, agitators, filters, pipelines, valves, and dosing systems.
- Prepare and dose treatment chemicals as per process requirements.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with the maintenance team for repairs.
- Carry out routine cleaning, sludge handling, and disposal as per approved procedures.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the ETP area.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies.
- Assist during inspections by regulatory authorities and internal/external audits.
- Participate in preventive maintenance activities and equipment calibration as required.
- Follow all safety procedures while handling chemicals and operating equipment.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certification in ETP Operations (preferred).
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience operating an Effluent Treatment Plant in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industry.
- Freshers with relevant technical qualifications may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of ETP processes and wastewater treatment operations.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and Pollution Control Board guidelines.
- Ability to operate pumps, blowers, dosing systems, and related equipment.
- Basic knowledge of water quality testing and process parameters.
- Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with GMP, EHS, and safety practices.

- Compliance of treated effluent with regulatory standards.
- Minimum equipment downtime.
- Timely completion of preventive maintenance activities.
- Accuracy of operational records and logbooks.
- Zero environmental non-compliance incidents.
- Safe handling of chemicals and adherence to safety procedures.
Working Conditions
- Manufacturing plant environment.
- Shift-based work, including weekends or holidays if required.
- Exposure to chemicals and wastewater; appropriate PPE must be used at all times.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹24,000.00 per month
