Experience
15–20 Years of relevant experience in Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, Process Control, or Manufacturing Engineering, including 5–8 years in a leadership role managing instrumentation and automation teams.
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- M.E./M.Tech is an added advantage.
- Certifications in PLC, SCADA, DCS, Industrial Automation, Reliability Engineering, or TPM will be preferred.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Instrumentation Head to lead the Instrumentation & Automation Department, ensuring reliable process control, high equipment availability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing facility.
Job Summary
The Instrumentation Head will be responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all instrumentation, automation, calibration, and process control activities across the plant. The incumbent will ensure optimum performance of PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI, VFDs, field instruments, analyzers, and control systems while leading automation projects, improving process efficiency, and ensuring compliance with safety and statutory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation & Automation
- Lead the Instrumentation & Automation Department and ensure uninterrupted operation of all process control systems.
- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of PLC, SCADA, DCS, HMI, VFDs, field instruments, analyzers, and control valves.
- Maintain accurate calibration of all measuring and control instruments.
- Diagnose and resolve instrumentation faults to minimize production downtime.
- Develop and implement automation projects to improve plant efficiency and productivity.
Process Control & Reliability
- Monitor process parameters and optimize control systems for consistent production.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for instrumentation failures and implement corrective actions.
- Improve equipment reliability through predictive maintenance and continuous monitoring.
- Maintain complete documentation, calibration records, and equipment history.
Maintenance Planning
- Prepare annual maintenance plans, shutdown schedules, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Quality, and Utility teams for planned maintenance.
- Ensure availability of critical instrumentation spares and consumables.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, electrical safety standards, calibration standards, and environmental requirements.
- Promote a zero-accident safety culture.
- Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analysis.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, Factory Act, and Pollution Control Board requirements.
Budget & Cost Management
- Prepare and manage annual instrumentation budgets.
- Optimize maintenance costs while maintaining system reliability.
- Recommend technology upgrades and energy-efficient solutions.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor Instrumentation Engineers, Automation Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians, and contract personnel.
- Conduct technical training and competency development programs.
- Drive performance management and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
