Job Overview:
The Project Officer will be responsible for the on-ground implementation and coordination of road safety initiatives, ensuring effective execution across multiple stakeholders. The role involves planning and monitoring training programs, engaging with government agencies and partners, and overseeing project activities such as data analysis, site assessments, and equipment deployment.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate, and oversee implementation of road safety project activities at the ground level

Support and monitor training sessions, including simulator-based assessments conducted across schools, colleges, NGOs, and RTOs

Act as a key point of contact for program stakeholders, partners, and government agencies for smooth project execution

Coordinate with government officials (Police, Transport Department, RTOs, etc.) for:
o Identification of accident-prone locations (blackspots)
o Retrieval and analysis of crash data
o Securing necessary permissions, approvals, and official documentation

Facilitate issuance of required letters and ensure compliance with official processes and protocols

Plan and schedule first responder trainings in coordination with relevant authorities and stakeholders

Monitor installation and maintenance of road safety equipment based on assessment findings and recommendations

Develop and maintain partnerships with public and private stakeholders to strengthen program outreach and impact

Track project progress against deliverables and timelines, ensuring effective execution

Prepare, review, and submit periodic reports on project status, outputs, and outcomes

Ensure proper documentation of all project activities, learnings, and impact metrics

Assist in planning schedules, logistics, and resource allocation for training and outreach activities

Identify challenges in implementation and proactively suggest solutions

Support compliance with organizational and donor requirements
Profile Requisites:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Social Work (BSW/MSW) / relevant field with minimum 5 years of experience in project coordination or program management

Strong organizational and coordination skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience in stakeholder management, especially with government agencies

Exposure to community outreach and field-based projects

Understanding of road safety, traffic management, or public safety projects will be an added advantage

Proficiency in English, Tamil, and Hindi (Tamil preferred)

Willingness to travel for project implementation and coordination

Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms)

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
Remuneration: Subject to relevant qualification, experience & merit; the consultancy fees range is 40000 to 50000 per month.
