A Debt Recovery Trainer is responsible for training and coaching collection agents or recovery executives on effective debt collection techniques, communication skills, compliance, and customer handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Train new hires on debt recovery and collection processes.
- Conduct sessions on:
- Collection strategies
- Negotiation skills
- Skip tracing
- Customer handling
- Legal and compliance guidelines
- Soft skills and objection handling
- Monitor agent performance and provide feedback.
- Prepare training materials, SOPs, and assessments.
- Conduct refresher training for existing teams.
- Improve recovery rates through coaching and process improvement.
- Ensure teams follow company and regulatory policies.
- Coordinate with operations and quality teams.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge of collections/recovery processes
- Team handling and coaching ability
- MS Excel and reporting knowledge
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Understanding of banking/BPO/financial services industry
Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline
- Experience in debt recovery, collections, or BPO training preferred
- Prior experience as trainer/team leader is an advantage
Experience
- Typically 2–5 years in collections/recovery domain
- Training experience preferred
