Job Title : Senior / Lead Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Functional Consultant – Finance & SCM
Experience
7–12 years of ERP experience with strong end‑to‑end D365 Finance & Operations implementation exposure, including functional leadership, technical solution awareness, automation enablement, and environment governance.
Role Summary
We are looking for a Senior / Lead D365 F&O Functional Consultant with strong expertise across Finance and Supply Chain Management (SCM). The role involves translating complex business requirements into scalable D365 F&O solutions, driving fit‑gap analysis, supporting automation and intelligent process improvements, and ensuring technical architecture and environment governance alignment. The consultant will work closely with CFOs, finance leaders, and operations stakeholders and play a key role in large, enterprise ERP programs.
Key Responsibilities
1) Requirements, Fit‑Gap & Solution Design
- Lead structured business and finance workshops to gather and analyze requirements across Finance and SCM.
- Map business requirements to D365 F&O standard functionality, leveraging best practices and reusable patterns.
- Perform FIT/GAP analysis, document gaps, and define configuration, extension, integration, or automation approaches.
- Use Business Process Priorities (BPP) to guide solution design, prioritization, and phased implementation.
2) Finance Functional Ownership
- Hands‑on responsibility for core Finance modules, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Strong expertise in:
- Cash & Bank Management
- Budgeting and Budget Control
- Deep understanding of invoicing and AR lifecycle processes (billing, collections, settlements, aging, disputes).
3) Supply Chain Management (SCM) Exposure
- Functional exposure to D365 F&O Supply Chain modules, including:
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Order‑to‑Cash and Procure‑to‑Pay flows
- Ability to assess and design Finance–SCM integration touchpoints, including:
- Sub-ledger to GL postings
- Costing, inventory valuation, and landed cost impacts
- Preferred experience in Service industry environments.
4) Automation, Low‑Code & Intelligent Capabilities
- Exposure to process automation in D365 F&O, including:
- Power Automate–based approvals and notifications
- Business events and integration triggers
- Awareness of automation and agent‑based scenarios in Finance and SCM:
- Reducing manual accounting and operational tasks
- Enhancing controls, alerts, and exception handling
- Ability to identify automation opportunities and guide their implementation with governance controls.
5) Technical Architecture Awareness
- Strong functional understanding of D365 F&O technical architecture, including:
- Extension‑based customization model
- Integration patterns (data entities, APIs, middleware)
- Data migration and reporting considerations
- Ability to work closely with architects and developers to:
- Validate functional designs
- Review technical solutions for scalability and performance
- Ensure alignment with platform standards
6) Environment Governance – LCS & PPAC
- Good understanding of D365 platform administration and governance, including:
- Lifecycle Services (LCS) – implementation management, issue tracking, updates, monitoring
- Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC) – environments, security, automation governance
- Awareness of:
- Environment strategy (DEV / TEST / UAT / PROD)
- Access control, SoD considerations, and change governance
- Audit‑ready and compliance‑driven delivery practices
7) Documentation, Training & Change Enablement
- Own and maintain:
- FRDs / FDDs
- Business process flows
- Configuration and setup workbooks
- Training material and SOPs
- Conduct solution walkthroughs, training sessions, and knowledge transfer.
- Drive user adoption and readiness.
8) Testing, Deployment & Post‑Go‑Live
- Prepare and review test scenarios and scripts.
- Lead and support SIT and UAT cycles with business users.
- Support cutover, go‑live, hypercare, and transition to support teams.
Project Leadership & Delivery Expectations
- Experience managing functional teams of 10–15 members.
- Successfully delivered minimum 2 ERP implementations with effort size exceeding 40 man‑months.
- Strong exposure to:
- Module‑wise estimation and effort sizing
- WBS, delivery planning, dependency and risk management
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Sure Step or equivalent ERP delivery methodologies.
- Strong experience with master data setups and core configuration (legal entities, dimensions, posting profiles, parameters).
Required Skills & Competencies
Must‑Have
- Strong D365 F&O Finance + SCM functional expertise.
- Proven experience working with CFOs and senior finance/operations stakeholders.
- Integrated exposure to business processes, automation, technical architecture, and governance.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills.
Good to Have
- Multi‑legal entity, multi‑currency, or global rollout experience.
- Reporting ecosystem understanding (Financial Reporting, embedded analytics, Power BI).
Education & Certifications (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s / Master’s in Finance, Accounting, IT, or Business.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate certification (preferred).
