Job Title: Java Software Developer (CX1 Platform)
Location: Bangalore / Mysore
Job Type: Full-time
Reports to: Technical Lead / Lead Software Engineer
Positions: 3
The Java Software Developer’s primary responsibility is production support and defect resolution on the CX1 Platform, taking on feature enhancements and backports when support commitments allow. This is a support-first role: depending on business priorities, the developer may be deployed to the defect-resolution / maintenance team or to enhancement delivery. A customer-centric engineer, the developer is relentless about fast, high-quality problem resolution and platform stability, writing clean, well-tested, maintainable Java code and partnering closely with the support (L2/L3) and product teams.
- Investigate, reproduce, and resolve defects with a root-cause focus; deliver fast, high-quality, lasting fixes that meet SLAs.
- Keep the customer’s experience and business impact at the center of how issues are prioritized and resolved.
- When support commitments allow, develop and deliver feature enhancements and backports to the platform (storefront, portal, PIM, integrations).
- Flex between defect-resolution / maintenance work and enhancement delivery as business priorities require.
- Contribute fixes and workarounds to the known-error / solutions knowledge base so recurring issues resolve faster.
- Implement and maintain search and integration functionality across the platform.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and unit-tested Java code; participate actively in peer code reviews.
- Work with Product and Support teams to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
- Follow source-control, CI/CD, and release practices; support deployments and post-release verification; maintain technical documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of hands-on software development experience in Java / J2EE.
- Strong with Spring / Spring Boot, REST/SOAP web services, and object-oriented design.
- Solid SQL and relational databases (Oracle preferred); able to write and tune queries.
- Experience with search technologies (e.g., Solr) and platform integrations a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and front-end integration.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and containerized/cloud environments (Kubernetes / GCP) a plus.
- Exposure to production support / defect resolution and a structured, root-cause approach to problem-solving.
- B2B eCommerce, distribution, or PIM domain experience a plus.
- Strong customer-centric mindset — focused on fast, high-quality problem resolution — with attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate across support and product teams.
