Commerce Bank uses the Salesforce platform to manage and improve Sales, Marketing and Servicing interactions with customers, clients and prospects. We are the application development team building and supporting this Salesforce platform. This is a fast paced and highly collaborative initiative with many moving parts. We are looking for a talented Salesforce Developer with exceptional skills in design, development, configuration and integration of the solution. This role will be part of an application development team working with our business partners in delivering the solution along with integrations to other systems in the organization. The focus will be on delivering a product that meets the overall strategic objectives. The Salesforce Software Development Engineer is a hands-on development and coding role that also requires technical leadership and mentoring.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for designing, coding, developing, integrating and implementing Salesforce code and configurations
- Develop, manage and maintain custom applications on the Salesforce platform to support organizational needs
- Create and manage custom objects, custom fields, page layouts, dashboards, and validation rules
- Configure, manage and maintain custom sharing rules to ensure data security
- Create and manage APEX classes, Asynchronous APEX code(Batch, Queueable, Scheduled)
- Design, develop and maintain LWC and Aura Components
- Create and manage platform events
- Develop and build user interfaces
- Responsible for configuration
- Design and develop integrations between Salesforce and other applications/systems as needed
- Guide and influence the implementation of architectural and programming standards along with best practices for a technically sound and scalable Salesforce solutions
- Oversight of the overall implementation process for new code and applications
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
- Experience designing, developing, configuring, customizing, and administering Salesforce
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture (CDC), and Streaming APIs
- Strong knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including configuration, customization, and development using Apex, LWC, and SOQL
- Experience with Salesforce integration patterns, including REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events, CDC, and asynchronous Apex
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps tools such as Copado, Git-based version control, and Salesforce DevOps Center
- Familiarity with Data Cloud, Einstein (AI) capabilities, and modern Salesforce automation (Flows)
- Experience with data migration tools (Data Loader, Data Import Wizard, or ETL tools)
- Experience designing and developing complex Salesforce solutions
- Experience building scalable, reusable, and maintainable Salesforce solutions
- Ability to write and review technical designs, create solution architecture diagrams, and conduct code reviews
- Understanding of Salesforce security models, including permission sets, SSO/OAuth, and secure coding best practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and lines of business

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 5+ years of IT and Software Development experience required
- 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience in Configuration & Coding required
- Salesforce Certifications required in Architecture/Design/Development/Administration
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer
- Experience with Copado is required
- Experience in Financial Services Cloud preferred
