Role Description
This role will form an integral part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC) – Arcadis’ centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. Our GEC is made up of more than 3,000 talented individuals working in offices across India, Romania, and Philippines, providing Capability, Capacity, and a Competitive Advantage across a wide array of unique projects and services, in collaboration with our global businesses.
The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer specializes in the design, development, and inspecting of Instrumentation & Controls equipment, components, or systems for life-science, biopharmaceutical, and/or microelectronics/semiconductor facilities. Studies new technologies and research innovative solutions and product designs. The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.
Your role will include, but is not limited to:
- Review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in conjunction with Process and Mechanical Engineers.
- Develop Instrument Index, I/O List, Instrument and automated valve data sheets.
- Experience in technical bid evaluation, interaction with vendor and vendor drawings review.
- Develop Control system Architecture, Process control and safeguarding narratives, sequence of operation, cause and effect matrix etc.
- Experience of executing small/medium size project in “Lead Engineer” role will be added advantage.
- Interact and coordinate with interdisciplinary design team members to ensure efficient and effective I&C interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
- Review and guide designers for 2D and 3D design drawings in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications, and procedures.
- Participate in multi-discipline coordination & clash checking efforts.
- Support by active participation, corporate and adhere to discipline-specific procedures and policies.
- Contribute to the development of the Discipline knowledge base and standards.
- Perform self QA/QC on deliverables, as well as on deliverables by other engineers.
- Performs the tasks within the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
- Should be a team player and perform task’s individually when required.
- Follow company standards and procedures including design and QA checking.
- Assist I&C manager/leads on various engineering deliverables, activities, discipline development tasks, standardization etc.
Qualifications and Skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or related field.
- 9 to 12 years of I&C and Automation design experience in Process industries.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, life science industries are preferred.
- Familiarization with norms and standards related to Instrumentation engineering.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
- Technical and quality focus.
- Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.
