Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced QA Lead Tester to lead quality assurance activities for BI and Data Engineering solutions. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality delivery of data warehouses, ETL pipelines, reports, and dashboards through effective testing strategies, team leadership, and strong data validation practices.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL, ETL testing, BI validation, and test leadership in data-driven environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesQA Leadership & Strategy
- Lead QA activities for BI and data engineering projects
- Define test strategy, test planning, and QA processes
- Assign, review, and guide QA team members
- Ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices
- Act as primary QA point of contact for stakeholders
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Design, review, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing
- Validate data across source, staging, and target systems
- Oversee ETL testing for data extraction, transformation, and loading
- Validate BI reports, dashboards, KPIs, and business logic
- Track defects, ensure proper documentation, and support RCA
Data Validation & SQL
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and reconciliation
- Compare and validate data between source and target systems
- Ensure data quality (accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness)
- Perform volume and performance testing on large datasets
- Validate aggregations, calculations, and transformations
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Business Analysts
- Participate in requirement analysis and test planning discussions
- Communicate test status, risks, and results to stakeholders
- Maintain test documentation and prepare test summary reports
- Support production issue analysis and resolution
Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical Skills
- 5–6 years of experience in QA, Data Testing, or BI Testing
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing
- Hands-on experience in ETL testing and data warehouse validation
- Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- Knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, Airflow, or similar)
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, Looker, etc.)
- Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts (fact, dimension, SCD)
- Experience with test management tools (Jira, ALM, TestRail, Azure DevOps)
- Familiarity with Git or version control systems
