Job Description
Pratidin, a leading Odia daily newspaper, is looking for a skilled and experienced DTP Operator proficient in Adobe InDesign for newspaper page layout and print production.
The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of newspaper designing and page-making, be comfortable working under tight deadlines, and have a strong understanding of print-ready files and newspaper production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and prepare newspaper pages using Adobe InDesign.
* Create and format pages according to the required editorial and advertising layouts.
* Place and format text, photographs, advertisements, headlines and other content accurately.
* Ensure proper page alignment, spacing, typography and overall visual presentation.
* Make necessary corrections and modifications to pages as instructed by the editorial and production teams.
* Prepare final pages/files according to printing and CTP requirements.
* Coordinate with editorial, advertising and production departments for timely completion of pages.
* Check pages carefully for formatting, alignment, missing elements and other errors before final output.
* Work efficiently within strict newspaper production deadlines, including late-evening/night shifts when required.
* Maintain consistency in page layouts, templates and design standards.
Eligibility & Skills
* Prior experience as a DTP Operator/Page Maker in a newspaper or print media organisation will be strongly preferred.
* Proficiency in Adobe InDesign is essential.
* Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop will be an added advantage.
* Good understanding of newspaper page layout and print production.
* Ability to work accurately and efficiently under tight deadlines.
* Good attention to detail and a strong sense of layout and typography.
* Candidates with experience in Odia newspaper page-making will be preferred.
* Ability to work in a team and coordinate with editorial and production staff.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with 2–5 years or more experience in newspaper DTP/page-making, particularly in Odia print media, will be preferred.
